Job Description Title: Billing Support Specialist Reports To: Vice President - Product Support Location: Communications Data Group, Inc., Champaign, IL Job Summary Supports and maintains customer accounts and serves as a primary point of contact between customer and CDG for bill processing. Provides timely and accurate production of customer statements and reports. Will also perform entry level software support to customers. Works to establish and maintain an organizational standard of excellence, helpfulness and professionalism. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Performs database updates that will reflect on customer's statements. Collaborating with customers, third party institutions and other team members to resolve billing inconsistencies. Creating invoices and billing reports. Interpret and reconcile customer statements against appropriate reports where required. Approve bill production and verify accuracy of statements prior to delivery to customer. Interacts with programmers, computer operators, support services, and any or all other departments to ensure the accuracy of the final product. Periodically train and update customers in billing and billing report interpretation. Provide user input to software development staff for program enhancements and modifications. Stay abreast of industry changes which affect the billing process and keep customers apprised of changes. Participate in industry meetings, conventions, forums, etc., as well as various marketing/sales efforts as required. Must display conduct throughout performance which promotes team participation. Work on projects as needed that may include technical documentation and quality assurance functions. Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of department specifically and CDG as a whole. Qualifications and Skills Associate degree in Business, Computer Science or Information Technology fields preferred. Related curriculum or equivalent experience will be considered. Minimum 1 year experience with Microsoft Windows, Linux, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, relational databases, and accounting related applications with basic knowledge of modern internet technologies and related hardware and software applications. Must be a team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be willing to work extra hours, weekends, and on-call situations if needed. Must be willing to travel and have a valid driver's license with a good driving record to drive rental vehicles if necessary. Must be a self-motivated, people oriented individual with highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, who is comfortable making presentations to large or small groups and with extemporaneous speaking when necessary. Understanding of CDG products and services and knowledge of wireline and wireless industries would be beneficial. Must be able to project and maintain an image of integrity, dependability, and professionalism in all business relationships, both internal and external. Experience in area of customer service required.
