Position Summary:




Work from home opportunity in the Champaign-Urbana area. Must be able to come in to the office on an as needed basis.

This position performs audits that evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and whether the organization is in compliance with written policies and best practices. Common areas of audit include accounting, IT, revenue cycle and billing, and patient operations.









Qualifications:




EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in in Accounting, Business Management, IT, Health Care Management, or related field

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Internal audit staff are expected to be working towards obtaining an audit-related certification, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or similar certification. Actual certification is not required for this position; however, advancement will not be considered until certification is achieved.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3 years professional experience required. Experience in accounting, auditing, IT, revenue cycle preferred. Experience in healthcare preferred

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Other Requirements
The position requires an understanding of auditing theory and practices, including the planning of an audit, audit testing, and communicating results. The position also requires the auditor be familiar with audit documentation standards, performing risk assessments, evaluating the adequacy of audit evidence, evaluating internal controls, performing analytical procedures, and audit sampling. New hires will be trained on these areas and will be encouraged to pursue an audit certification. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.









Essential Functions:

• Plan and conduct audits listed on the audit plan.
• Prepare working papers to document the work performed.
• Draft clear, concise audit reports that identify the findings noted and the corrective action plans to remediate those findings.
• Communicate the status of audits to management.
• Monitor the status of the implementation of corrective action plans.
