Director and Assistant Director of Gies Global in managing
short-term and virtual global initiatives of the Gies College of
Business; increasing both the quantity and quality of the global
experiences offered; and supporting the College's goal to achieve
100% study abroad participation rate. Duties &
ResponsibilitiesAdvise students regarding program options and match
students with a program that will fit their goals and purpose, to
include virtual options, short-term programs, semester programs and
Sophomore Year of Purpose options. Responsible for development and
coordination of Gies-sponsored undergraduate faculty-led,
short-term programs, which includes working with faculty leaders
and providers to plan logistics, plan company visits, cultural
experiences and content for each program, ensure faculty leaders
receive appropriate training, provide health & safety orientations
to student groups, and update all online information and manage the
student recruitment and application process. Responsible for
virtual international internships and programs including marketing,
application management, advising, and communicating with providers
for student nominations and any necessary problem solving. Assist
with office management, including ordering supplies, managing
partner gift orders, and assisting with front desk coverage.
Maintains P-card for Gies Global purchases. RequirementsBachelor's
degree. One year of work experience in advising and/or
international program management. Demonstrated project management
experience.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business or
field related to international study Master's degree Substantive
personal experience with international study, living, and/or travel
Experience leading and organizing multiple, simultaneous
international short-term study abroad trips Experience arranging
company visits Experience developing marketing materials, procedure
manuals and forms Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrated
effective public speaking skills Excellent interpersonal and
oral/written communication skills Excellent attention to detail
Proven ability to handle emergencies Fluency in a foreign
languageAppointment Information: This is a 100% full-time Civil
Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a
12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible
after 7/29/2022. Salary is commensurate with experience.
