Job Description:
The EMS Instructor provides high-quality educational and training
opportunities to EMS System Members. Will provide Quality Assurance
for system members, as well as chart review for Arrow and AirLife.
Will support AHA course offerings for CREMS system members as well
as work to support the Parkland medic program as
assigned.Understands the pre-hospital care and hospital care of the
critically ill and injured. Maintains up-to-date knowledge base by
professional journal review, seminars, in-services, and clinical
practice.Communicates effectively with hospital and pre-hospital
personnel, hospital and IDPH administration, public safety and fire
officials, regional health care professionals, EMS Coordinator, EMS
Project Director, and EMS Medical Director. Observes chain of
command for reporting variances and problems.Provides EMT-Basic,
EMT-Intermediate, EMT-Paramedic, and other training courses to
qualified participants. Provides public presentations at other
professional courses as appropriate.Provides continuing education
opportunities for pre-hospital care providers in the EMS
System.Participates in the EMS System Quality Improvement
plan.Serves as a liaison between Carle EMS System and member
agencies.Assists with maintenance of records of system
participants.Gives prompt feedback during lab simulation.Prepares
classroom and course materials; assigns exercises and
exams.Instruction of AHA programs to the community and healthcare
professionalsCreate development plans with the management team for
the Instructor staffOrganizes lab supplies, equipment and
manikins.Assists with the maintenance of various medical equipment
in the lab setting.
