Supports the Diamond Materials Growth process and equipment within the company's ISO 9001:2008 Quality System. Supports production and others engineers in manufacturing operations. As a member of the Diamond Materials Group (DMG) focusing on CVD diamond growth and fabrication, the incumbent will lead production process, development initiatives to improve yields and process throughputs. The scope includes the continuous improvement of existing processes and equipment and developing innovative new approaches and manufacturing equipment. Leads process improvement tasks which includes the characterization of produced materials. Develops strong capabilities in crystalline and optical materials by combining several disciplines including engineering, physics, chemistry, and material science. Incumbent will be responsible for one or more diamond product lines.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Support Diamond growth process and equipment engineering activities
• Design, install and test equipment upgrades and modifications to improve uptime, yield, cycle time and throughput
• Perform process analysis and develop action plans
• Draft work instructions, safety guidelines and specifications for equipment
• Support troubleshooting and repair activities of assigned DMG equipment
• Lead new equipment installation and qualification
• Support training Technicians and Maintenance personnel
• Report against various functions including equipment uptime, maintenance effectiveness and maintenance costs versus plan
• Make use of databases and run data analysis to determine root causes and corrective actions for failures Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, materials, or science field (semiconductors preferred)
  • 2+ years' experience
  • Some experience with SPC and process control methodologies
  • Knowledge of vacuum systems, gas handling, control systems and materials (preferred) Skills & Other Requirements
    
    Ability to interpret P&IDs, mechanical and electrical schematics
    
    Highly motivated with a good work ethic
    
    Strong mechanical aptitude, experience with electronics
    
    Excellent communication and organizational skills, and proven abilities in production control, problem solving
    
    Proficient with MS Office Software
    
    Working Conditions
    • Schedule flexibility for extended work days or weekend
    • Regular maintenance involving hazardous materials
    • Regular troubleshooting of equipment
    • Daily reporting of equipment status
    • Manage and prioritize multiple projects
    • Regular interaction with equipment OEM and contractors Physical Requirements
      • Able to lift 50 lb
      • Able to perform physical tasks in various positions: standing, crouching, kneeling, reaching Safety Requirements
