The primary focus will be examining, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for infections and injuries to the teeth and mouth. The Dentist in this position must have an interest in delivering care in a community health center and a passion for creating a dental home for those underserved for dental care.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide general and comprehensive dentistry services to children and adultsAssist with the development of clinical dental policies and proceduresDiagnosis and evaluate dental conditions and maintaining accurate dental records to support diagnosis/evaluationInterpret x-rays and treat mouth diseasesProvide restorations and other treatment as neededPerform emergency procedures on patients to reduce or eliminate painAssess treatment options and agree on treatment plan with patientsInstruct/educate patients in oral hygiene and dental careAssist with the development and implementation of Dental Quality AssuranceAssist with training and evaluating assigned dental staffEducates individuals in oral health-related conditions and in the general promotion of oral health-related disease prevention.Expected to consistently work to ensure patient satisfaction and maintain positive relationshipsAbility to work in conditions that include exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissues contagious diseases and/or other potentially hazardous materialsFine motor coordination sufficient to perform manipulative skillsExcellent interpersonal and administrative management experiencePerforms other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Graduate from an accredited dental schoolKnowledge of public health principles and practicesPreferred 2 -4 years of experience in community health center or with underserved populations.Current dental licensure for the state of Illinois is requiredMust have valid driver's license, insurance, and transportation to other clinics as needed.Bilingual (Spanish)language preferredSchedule:Full or Part-Time positions availableBENEFITS:MedicalDentalVision401k with employer matchFSAVacationSick LeaveContinuing Dental Education SupportNHSC Loan Repayment or Scholarship Site - up to $50,000 for a two-year commitment$5,000 additional with oral proficiency in SpanishFor more information please visit: https://nhsc.hrsa.gov/by Jobble
