Job Description:
Overview Medication Renewal Center is part of the dynamic
centralized services offered within The Patient Contact Center. The
MRC CMA/RMA supports Carle Health Primary Care patient's medication
management, adherence, and refill needs by providing advanced level
patient care and support. MRC CMA/RMA's utilize Physician led
guidelines and protocols to assist in efficient decision making and
enhances patient compliance with health maintenance and chronic
medication management. The ideal candidate will enhance our
talented team by offering strong communication skills, ability to
critically think, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where you
can make a difference in the lives of our patients. This position
has potential to become remote but will be on-site in person for a
period of time (tentatively 6 months). Qualifications
Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT) - National
Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); Certified Medical Assistant
(CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA);
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (AMT) - American Medical
Technologists (AMT); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days -
American Heart Association (AHA); Nationally Registered Certified
Medical Assistant (NRCMA) - National Association for Health
Professionals (NAHP); Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) -
National Healthcareer Association (NHA); Registered Medical
Assistant (RMA) (ARMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants
(ARMA); Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (AAH) - American Allied
Health (AAH), Education: H.S. Diploma/GED, Work Experience: Patient
care Responsibilities Works collaboratively with the Medication
Renewal Center nursing and clerical team members to maximize
productivity and efficiencyCompletes medication refill encounters,
care due messages, and order entry based on established
protocols.Provides clear EMR documentation in accordance with
department standards regarding medication renewal requests, care
due messages, patient care needs and/or follow up.Receives and
enters to EMR faxed encounters, renewal orders, and other pharmacy
communications.Orders and schedules appointments and/or lab work as
appropriately outlined in protocols.Reviews patient compliance with
medications by thorough review of the patient's medical
record.Communication of medication orders to designated pharmacies
via verbal or electronic means.Provides general health information
using approved references including but not limited to, providing
individual and group health and wellness education.Ensures
documentation of care is complete and accurateMaintains and adheres
to medication management and refill guidelines and
protocolsCoordinates with Primary Care Physicians and Nursing staff
in order to meet the needs of the patient.Review medication renewal
requests and care due messages received from pharmacies and
patients under a variety of methods including but not limited to
electronic communications, fax, or phone calls. Identifies care
gaps and promotes health standards and activities to prevent
non-compliance with chronic medication management. Reviews current,
past, and future appointments and lab work for compliance with safe
medication administration. Communicates with pharmacies regarding
discrepancies and/or clarification for medications. Communicates
with patients regarding required services (labs and/or office
visits) to facilitate medication refill processes. Communicates
with patients, providers, care teams, and pharmacies of any changes
to medications to reduce pharmacological errors. Disseminate
education to patient as written by provider. Schedules
appointments, validates insurance, and processes patient concerns
through use of symptom guide and other outlined department
processes when needed. Reports medical information obtained from
patients accurately, completely, and in a timely manner ensuring
accuracy of the information available within the EMR. Adheres to
and enforces Carle policies and procedures. Emphasizes attracting,
mentoring, and retaining talent through excellent communication,
training, and orientation to new personnel after successful
completion of six-month probationary period. Provides float support
to all Patient Contact Center Clinical teams including Patient
Advisory Nurse (PAN) and Patient Clinical Services (PCS) as
volumes, in-baskets, patient care, and other business needs

compensation range for this position is $18.33per hour - $29.69per
hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for
the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual
compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of
factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience,
qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and
