Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Peoria, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,330 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Peoria, Illinois, 61637! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical-Surgical Acute Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of hospital experience preferred License: Active Illinois RN license Certifications: BLS certification, ACLS preferred for Charge RN position Must-Have: Experience in titrating drips such as Heparin Description: Nurse-to-patient ratios are 4-5:1 during the day and 5-6:1 at night. All beds are private rooms except for one semi-private room. Two Patient Care Technicians are available per shift, with a ratio of 9:1 when the unit is full. Registered Nurses are required to troubleshoot and manage equipment for patients who may need oxygen support and stable BiPAP/CPAP at night as needed. Patients requiring telemetry are monitored remotely. The unit has a 24-hour unit clerk. 12-hour shifts include 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM, with report times at shift changes. Registered Nurses will work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotations. There is no call requirement. Traveling Registered Nurses may float to other units as needed. Uniforms are any color of scrubs, which staff must provide. The department provides a structured orientation with a unit preceptor. In-house resources such as a hospitalist/intensivist, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy support are available 24/7. Registered Nurses are expected to attempt IV starts and utilize available resources if needed.
