The Accounting Technician III has the ability to do all the tasks
performed by the Accounting Technician II, but at a higher level of
complexity. This position has demonstrated that they have a
thorough knowledge of Carle's organization structure, pay practices
and systems needed to process payroll. They can accurately complete
corrections of pay and answer more challenging employee specific
pay questions. They also have the knowledge needed to accurately
run and balance a payroll and they may be responsible for some
General Ledger functions.
Three (3) years of previous experience in P/R for a large
organization based on manager*s evaluation of employee*s previous
experience OR Three (3) years minimum Carle P/R experience if there
is no other previous financial experience or education and the
employee has proven that they can function at a higher skill level.
OR an associate*s degree in Accounting plus Two (2) years of Carle
Payroll experience OR associates degree plus 2.5 years of non-Carle
payroll experience and the employee has proven that they can
function at a higher skill level. Advancement is not automatic but
is based on manager*s evaluation of employee*s work history and
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
General knowledge of payroll laws and regulations. Ability to
maintain a high degree of accuracy, meet deadlines and to maintain
confidentiality. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong basic computer skills including training and experience with
excel and at least one accounting system. Knowledge of Carle
organization structure, systems, processes, and policies.
- Assists in the production and maintanance of bi-weekly and

- In depth understanding of pay practices and payroll
transactions and ability to apply this knowledge to various
situations, such as complex corrections of pay.
- Maintain cross-training and backup support to payroll
specialists for a variety of tasks such as garnishments.

- Assists with various audits done in the Payroll area, batches,
uploads, input, etc.
- Backup for the specialists for all payroll post close
- Analyze more complex inquires from employees and leaders.
