Job Description Role: Quality Supervisor - Provides leadership and technical assistance to all site operations, as assigned, by aggressively managing Quality systems, instilling Quality awareness and performing fact-based assessments/audits of manufacturing operations. Ensures that all records, procedures, processes, and equipment comply with all Federal, State, and other regulatory requirements. Contributes to the success of Quality MBOs by implementing appropriate corrective/preventive actions and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Assists in the development of new Quality systems and personnel; and serves as a resource for plant business units and other plant functions. Primary Responsibilities - Audits quality systems (i.e. Sanitation, Housekeeping/GMPs, HACCP, QRMP) for compliance and effectiveness, and reports deviations and inadequacies to the appropriate parties. Makes recommendations for correction or improvement. - Assists in the development of new quality systems and/or the improvement of existing quality systems. - Continuously provide leadership, technical assistance and Quality support to Quality technicians and all other operational teams. - Maintains a familiarity with all product standards, properties, processing standards and requirements. - Conduct fact-based investigations when Quality issues arise during production. Effectively communicate corrective/preventive actions. - Assists in training employees in statistical techniques, Quality awareness, and GMPs. - Support QRMP standards as outlined in the plant accountability list. Participate in the QRMP audit and assist with the development of procedures and follow up on corrective actions as assigned. - Support internal and external inspections/regulatory visits. Support audit preparation activities, accompany inspector, and complete necessary reports. Perform follow-ups to non-conformances found and provides responses as appropriate. Train site on proper inspection procedures. Assist in ensuring facility is always inspection ready. - Acts as Distribution Quality contact and work with Distribution on Quality concerns/initiatives. - Supports and followsproper plant safety policies and procedures. - Maintains a current and comprehensive knowledge of laboratory testing methods and procedures. - Identifies laboratory team priorities and vision and insures laboratory has proper leadership and proper tools to accomplish mission. - Performs special assignments as directed. Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or equivalent degree, preferred. - Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality and/or technical leadership role or minimum 2 years of experience in operations/quality/technical (R/D). - Strong leadership, technical, communication and organizational skills required along with attention to detail. - Advanced knowledge of quality systems, procedures, & policies helpful. Handle multiple assignments, develop work plans, & prioritize. - Knowledge of statistical processes. - Detailed-oriented. - Effective communication skills(oral written and verbal). - Planning and organizing skills. - Successful candidates must possess a positive focus toward solutions with emphasis on preventative pro-active measures and team-building. - Must be able to work 2nd shift, weekends, and all required overtime.
