Apply basic electro-mechanical trouble shooting skills to
support automated final assembly cells, Staubli & Adept robots,
Allen Bradley, Omron, & Keyence PLC's, spray & dip coating
equipment, automated screwdrivers, conveyor equipment, etc.
+ Capable of troubleshooting mechanical & electrical systems -
read schematics, use of multimeter.
+ Capable of troubleshooting PLC & Robotics controls -
understands programming logic, teaching points.
+ Conducts basic tests or analysis on production equipment to
determine operability. Applies standard troubleshooting techniques
to determine and correct for malfunctions.
+ Capable of operating, troubleshooting, & performing
maintenance on Grohmann overmold cells, Arburg injection molding
equipment, etc. as required.
+ Tooling - Safe use of power tools to fabricate non-precision
parts i.e. sensor brackets, etc.
+ Makes effective technical decisions and communicates them to
Maintenance, Engineering, Production and Management to support root
cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
+ In depth troubleshooting of electrical systems - locate shorts
in wiring; using multimeter to check continuity, power, and phases;
use amp probe
+ Can follow PLCs, control programs. Can establish
communications with PLC, run programming software to identify
+ Troubleshoots from and modifies PLCs, control programs
+ Replace and repair any electrical control component.
+ Understands and can follow OEM's instructions to set-up and
adjust any major machine control component such as signal
conditioners and motor controllers.
+ Strong knowledge of PC's and their uses in machine control
+ Familiar with the basics of machine vision. Can make
parametric adjustments in the controller to maintain the machine's
+ Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental
programs, policies and procedures.
+ Other duties as assigned.
