Your Role at Cabot

Develops drawing of electro-mechanical or electronic designs and layouts for engineering, manufacturing, or capital project purposes. Will use computer-aided design (CAD) equipment and assist other users as a subject matter expert. Works with outside engineering firms to ensure quality and accuracy of drawings and designs provided by them. Works with engineers and end users on spare part stocking strategies for new equipment, equipment modifications, and criticality changes using a risk-based approach. Works with purchasing on order fulfillment and supplier payment. Facilitates the receipt, storing and distribution of materials and parts located in plant storerooms. Works in conjunction with vendors and other departments in the plant to ensure available inventory. Maintains files, records and prepares inventory reports. Manages quality assurance of spare parts.

How You Will Make an Impact

* Works with engineers to create complex drawings of components, assemblies or sub-assemblies. Works from notes, sketches verbal/written instructions. Assists in determining materials, fabrication, costs and other elements.
* Uses formulas and calculations to determine scale, planes, dimensions, and develops technical illustrations.
* Develops drafting standards for Tuscola, Carrollton, and Midland Fumed Metal Oxide (FMO) sites. Creates and updates standard templates, blocks, layouts, etc.
* Organizes and maintains a drawing database, equipment files, and instrument spec sheets.
* Ability to work closely with contractors, equipment suppliers, internal and external engineers, and project managers.
* Maintains and updates engineering drawings and project files and records as well as process safety information specifications and files.
* Monitors and controls inventory operations for plant storeroom.Receives materials; checks documentation and count; stores items in assigned location.
* Starts the complaints procedure in case of non-conformances.
* Researches replacement items when an item is being discontinued or is unavailable.
* Contacts suppliers to track product delivery and may send reminders if the deadline is exceeded.
* Verifies that pulled items and fulfilled order requisitions are accurate and timely. May assemble kits used for production or other aspect of manufacturing, as needed.
* Performs materials and parts inspections and manages inventory counts. Reorders materials to ensure established optimum inventory levels. Participates in inventory audits.
* Maintains JDE ERP system on a regular basis as materials and parts are received and disbursed ensuring proper item classification.
* Updates item codes, descriptions and price changes in the system.
* Manages stocks and orders goods to maintain the established stock level.
* Drives continuous improvement (i.e. barcoding, regional stores consolidation, etc.).
* Must have the ability to travel regionally and work remotely with other Cabot sites. Less than 10% travel.
* Participates in scheduled safety meetings and completes safety training requirements.
* Maintains work area safe and clean. Works in a safe manner and supports SH&E programs.

Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care - Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001 - technical specification, as applicable to the site/region

What You Will Bring to Cabot

* 1 - 2 years related experience or specialized training in drafting and AutoCAD.
* Knowledge of drafting and design techniques.
* Understanding of electrical and mechanical components.
* Knowledge of properties of materials and structural design symbols.
* Ability to use CAD equipment such as scanners, plotters and related software.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
* Must have knowledge or be willing to learn about the site's production equipment and processes.
* Familiarity with use of office applications, such as Word and Excel, inventory databases, and purchasing software (COUPA)
* Customer service and organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
* The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
* Perform field walk-throughs.
* Climb industrial ladders and stairs.
* Work from heights.
* Able to be trained to drive and safely use aerial work platforms and a fork truck.
* Climb scaffolding.Able to be medically cleared to wear a respirator (PFT - pulmonary function test) and fit tested.
