Position Summary:




The IT System Administrator - Citrix Engineer role is to ensure the stable operation, reliability, security, and planned future of the assigned computer systems and the support of all the services on the assigned systems. Under minimal supervision, performs work supporting the overall integration of the assigned systems enterprise-wide including participation in planning, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination with enterprise business operations. A person in this position is a technical contributor with superior knowledge and experience in the area of the assigned systems, communications interfaces, and related hardware/software. Maintains technical expertise and may have certifications in selected vendor products. Works closely with architecture teams to deploy and operate system designs. Will perform security procedures and recommended policies to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal polices. The person will also, from time to time, analyze and resolve end user software program and connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required. Specific deliverables include daily ticket/work request handling, and alert monitoring and resolution. Responsible for documenting all supported systems.










Qualifications:




EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate's Degree in Related Field or Experience in Lieu of Education - Five (5) years of experience in system administration

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Driver's License upon hire.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of experience in managing and maintaining application delivery technologies. Also, experience with monitoring and reporting on these systems is required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
* Ability to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the organization. * Ability to deal with a rapid, fast-paced, and changing environment. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Ability to manage and deliver multiple project phases at the same time, and able to manage ongoing operational issues with longer term strategic work. * Working technical knowledge of Citrix, virtualization technology, network, PC, and platform operating systems. * Support and administration experience with Citrix Xenapp, XenDesktop, and ShareFile. * Experience with PVS is required. * Experience with App Layering is a plus. * Advanced working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, and Active Directory. * Strong knowledge of core systems administration. * Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience. * Ability to conduct research into software or hardware issues and products as required. * Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. * Experience and/or certifications in Citrix and other appropriate technologies is preferred. * Experience with supported Microsoft Server Operating Systems. * Current VMWare experience a plus.









Essential Functions:

• Diagnose and resolve system problems.
• Provide on-call technical support.
• Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades for the system infrastructure to maintain service levels.
• Provide guidance to vendors, partners, business owners, and/or other IT members involved with the management or provisioning of applications on Citrix resources.
• Implement system infrastructure changes.
• Update master images and templates on a regular basis to comply with policies and best practices.
• Monitor and test performance and provide statistics and reports to proactively identify potential problems and bottlenecks.
• Ensure environment uptime and high availability and address appropriate recovery and redundancy issues.
• Promptly respond to incidents and requests.
• Provide detailed system documentation.
• Review and study assigned vendor software and hardware products to determine those that meet the needs of the enterprise.
