Summary

Item Processing associates are responsible for a variety of check processing tasks including but not limited to: Mobile Deposit review and fraud prevention, check returns, check adjustments, deposit review from branches, ATM fraud review, and back-office support for branches. This is a primarily 8am-5pm position, but will occasionally require flexibility to cover for the closing shift of 10:30 AM -7:30 PM EST.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mathematical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ten-key calculator skills preferred
  • Banking experience a plus
  • Strong phone etiquette
  • Excel knowledge a plus
    Primary Activities

    (Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

    • Review Mobile Deposits for proper endorsement, image quality, and potential fraud.
    • Key missing, incorrect and misread MICR transactions.
    • Balancing of teller, remote deposit and ATM transactions.
    • Answer telephone calls from branch personnel and assist with problem solving.
    • Process outgoing check returns including review of Positive Pay
    • Submit check adjustments through Fiserv and the Federal Reserve
    • Review ATM deposits for potential fraud.
    • Backup for incoming returns associate
    • Other duties as assigned
