As a member of AXIS, you join a team that is among the best in the industry.The Pricing team has responsibility for developing consistent world-wide pricing practices within the AXIS Reinsurance segment and is primarily responsible for Pricing Individual Accounts and providing insight into the risk those accounts bring to our organization. The successful candidate will provide actuarial support to the US Casualty group through the creation of a database of our internal submission data and actuarial analysis.Key Duties & Responsibilities: * Read and understand a reinsurance treaty submission, including standard exhibits provided for actuarial pricing work.* Organize historical actuarial analysis into a centralized database, allowing analysis of the various components of these analysis: o Historical Loss ratioso Loss Developmento Rate Changeso Actuarial Rating Plan components, such as Increase Limits Factorso Exposure Profiles* Create efficient process to save data and query the database for benchmarking analysis* Communicate progress, as well as pertinent findings to managerRequired Education/Training & Experience:* Self-starter, proactive and with the ability to develop, recommend and implement new approaches * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to establish credibility with senior underwriters, business unit leaders and divisional leadership.* Working knowledge of computer systems and software; Microsoft Excel, VBA and SQL preferred* Working knowledge of statistical methodologies and specialized math including calculus and probability preferredMinimum Qualifications:* Progress towards an Undergraduate or post-secondary degree in Actuarial Science and progress toward actuarial exams with the CAS or SOA.* Current student in good standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. * This is a part time position during the semester while school is in session and full time during the summer.Working hours are scheduled as the student's class schedule permits between 8am and 6pm on weekdays, totaling 15-20 hours a week during the academic year.For this position, we expect to offer a base salary of $21 per hour. In addition, all employees are eligible for a competitive incentive target, with awards based on performance.
