JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective: A Solar Installer is expected to facilitate the
installation portion of a solar system. A Solar Installer is
required to learn how to interpret the technical specifications of
the equipment they are installing and install it, while maintaining
a safe jobsite. If difficulties arise, they are expected to inform
the Lead Installer/Solar Manager; while at the same time offer
solutions to keep installations as efficient as possible and within
budget, providing the customer with a high-quality experience.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time
position, and the hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00
a.m. to 4 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
as job duties demand.
Work Environment: Environment consists of extreme variations due to
conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, wet, wind,
sunlight, absence of light, insects, animals, mammals, reptiles,
and other conditions deemed by worksite.
Physical Demands: Reaching, bending, stooping, walking, sitting,
crawling, squatting. Holding, carrying objects, and lifting;
including heavy objects and equipment up to 300 pounds. Use of
tools and equipment such as hand tools and ladders. Must be able to
work in small, confined workspaces like attics, crawl spaces, and
utility closets/rooms for extended periods of time.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
Valid driver's license and insurable through company insurance
carrier.
Little to no residential/commercial solar installation
experience.
Must pass drug and background screens.
Able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in
writing.
Able to work with tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Team-oriented with a desire to learn from fellow Installers.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Basic Solar Training Certificate
Basic Solar Training
Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools
Minimum 2 years electrical installation experience
