About the Position
The Summer Meter Painter is a summer temporary help position starting in June and ending in early August. The position will work under the supervision of a Gas Supervisor and paint gas meter sets and up to 3' of customer fuel line. The Summer Meter Painter will paint a minimum of three to four meters per hour and 1,000 meters over the course of the assignment.
Summer employees will clean and paint residential meters to meet code requirements for corrosion mitigation. This position includes performance of DOT-covered safety sensitive functions.
Hours
Candidates must be committed to working the summer schedule Monday - Friday. (Typically, 40 hours per week). Candidates may be requested to work occasional overtime based on needs of the department/Company.
Salary
The salary for this role is $15.50 per hour plus mileage.
Qualifications



  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent, required


  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age


  • Must successfully complete drug screening and a background check


  • Ability to obtain a Class E Driver's license


  • Must have a good Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).


  • Quality work is required


  • Must meet or exceed daily meter painting quotas

    Candidates enrolled in a technical school majoring in Electrical, HVAC, A.C. Electricity, Trade Construction, Welding, Highway Construction, Industrial Pipefitting, Machining, or Maintenance Mechanic is preferred .
