Job Description:
Primary Duties & Responsibilities* DMG Growth / Fabrication:**
Operate and organize assigned fabrication process and analytical
equipment with frequent supervision and adhere to all fabrication
schedules.* Performs low-level maintenance of assigned fabrication
equipment (Polishers, Lappers, Lasers)* Procedures, work
instructions, safety protocols and accepted practices are followed
without deviation.* Relevant and reliable data is collected,
documented and organized into the appropriate format.* Observe and
report process and equipment deviations.* Assistance in the
construction of process and R&D equipment is done per
specification and direction.* No "rework" is caused by failure to
follow direction, specifications or procedures.* Expectations and
timelines are met or exceeded without the sacrifice of safety
and/or product quality.* Problems and issues are communicated in a
professional, timely and accurate manner.* Assistance on mechanical
installations (i.e.: new equipment, support infrastructure, general
plumbing) is provided as needed.* Assistance to "on-sight"
contractors is provided as needed.* Receiving/shipping/handling of
freight is provided in a safe manner and associated paperwork
processed as required.* Documentation:** Enter process and test
data into the appropriate database in a timely manner. Maintains
databases as required by contracts or production.* Acceptance tests
and the related commissioning startup checklists are accurate,
complete and well organized.* All required or assigned equipment or
process maintenance logs are accurate, complete and well
organized.* Equipment and process maintenance logs are accurate,
well organized and completed on time.* Interpersonal Relations:*

appraisals on-timeEducation & Experience* High school or equivalent
required* 4+ years' experience in manufacturing, laboratory, or
similar work environmentSkills* Must demonstrate a basic level of
organization, accountability and the ability to take actions
independently. Must be able to occasionally operate with little or
no supervision* Must be able to stay focused on assigned tasks*
Must be flexible for shift assignments and overtime as dictated by
process needs* Must have a basic understanding of computer
equipment and common instruments, laboratory equipment and
mechanical tools* Must demonstrate basic analytical thinking and
troubleshooting skills* Must participate in II-VI sponsored
training as assigned by management* Must be able to wear all job
required PPE and follow all job specific safety protocols* Must be
able to react at the operational level during incident/emergency
situations involving assigned process and associated chemicals
consistent with the training expectations for a junior technician*
Must be able to perform "Specifically Assigned Responsibilities",
as requiredWorking Conditions* Works with hand and power tools in
laboratory and production environment* Works with high temperature,
high voltage and microwave/laser radiation* Works with concentrated
acids and chemicals* Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, heat,
noise and coldPhysical Requirements* 50% normal and 50%
concentrated mental attention* Rarely required to contribute to a
plurality of tasks throughout a day* Must be able to lift, push,
pull up to 50 lbs.Safety RequirementsAll employees are required to
follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards.*
Protective safety toe footwear is required (cost reimbursed by
II-VI)* Follow all procedures, work instruction and accepted work
practices relating to specified Personal Protective Equipment for
assigned tasks* Responsible for Lock Out-Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
involving troubleshooting and maintenance of systems* Report all
workplace accidents following the proper chain of command for II-VI
ERT Response.* Complete all II-VI sponsored emergency response
training as assigned* Keep all safety and general use supplies
adequately stocked as assigned* Keep common and production areas
clean and organizedQuality and Environmental
ResponsibilitiesDepending on location, this position may be
responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000,
9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the
relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management
