** Patient Service Representative - Vein & Vascular****Job Category****:** Clerical **Requisition Number****:** PATIE02270 Showing 1 location **Job Details****Description**Christie Clinic department of Vein and Vascular is looking for a full-time **Patient Service Representative**, Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm at the Main Clinic. This dynamic self-starter will greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments and collect payment for retails products and post payments. Administrative/Clerical experience is required. Healthcare experience is preferred. Must be able to function efficiently and demonstrate excellent customer service and computer skills. Previous medical office experience preferred. Stable work history required.**Responsibilities:*** Greet patients and visitors in an efficient, professional and courteous manner and solicit customer feedback to improve service.* Demonstrate the ability to promptly answer a high volume of phone calls and schedule patient appointments with providers.* Provide check in process for patients.* Verify and update necessary demographic information.* Maintain provider schedules.* Keep a neat and orderly work and lobby area.* Maintain relevant office supplies for department effectiveness.* Distribute mail to appropriate staff members.* Schedule referral visits, tests, labs and appointments, as requested.* Ensure patient completes all paperwork pertaining to the office visit including insurance information, etc. prior to patient seeing provider.* Post any payments including co-payments, payments toward account balances, collections, etc.* Change financial class for charges on a patients account that need filed to updated INS.* Maintain and balance payment drawer at end of day including cash, checks and charges.* Maintain file for sample medications and vouchers/coupons.* Stamp all papers, results, medical records, etc. and send to HIS to be scanned.* Assist patient to exam room, clean exam room after appointment and help to restock room with supplies.* Perform related work as required.**Skills****Required** **Medical terminology** *Some Knowledge* **Appointment scheduling** *Some Knowledge* **Ability to multi-task** *Intermediate* **Ability to communicate effectively** *Intermediate* **Ability to answer high volume of calls** *Some Knowledge* **Dedicated****:** Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity **Education****Required** High School or better.**Experience****Preferred** Medical office experience preferred Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
